Hi ya’ll! Today I am going to share with you some of my favorite unique Christmas decor ideas that you can create from Dollar Tree products!
Nature Inspired Unique Christmas Decor
Wood Cube Christmas Tree

This adorable tree is probably the easiest DIY on this list! And once it is assembled and topped with a bow you won’t believe that it’s made from Dollar Tree products!
What You Need
Material
- Wood Cubes (15mm)
- Christmas Ribbon (wired ribbon would be best)
- Hot Glue Sticks
Tools
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
How To Make A Wood Cube Christmas Tree
Step 1:

You will want to start by hot gluing 7 wood cubes in a row, side by side.
Then glue 6 cubes together, side by side.
Next you will glue the row of 6 on top of the row of 7…be sure to space evenly.
Repeat these steps, using 1 less in each row, until you have 7 rows total (ending with only 1 on top).
Step 2:

Once the tree is assembled you are going to make a small bow to go on top!
First, you will cut a 6 inch piece of ribbon. If it is a wide ribbon you will need to cut it in half, from top to bottom. Then fold both ends inward and overlapping slightly. Once it is overlapped fold like an accordion and secure with a small rubber band.
Next, using the scrap piece of ribbon cut two tails and a center piece to hide the rubber band. Then, glue the tails on the back of the bow.
Finally, glue the bow at the top of the tree.
Craft Stick Snowman Sign

Creating this sign can be done in many different ways. If you are artistic, feel free to paint the entire winter scene. But if a paint brush scares you then try creating it with pom poms, felt, pipe cleaners, and glitter glue!
I decided to create my craft stick snowman sign using a mixture of materials. Adding material along with the paint adds interest and softness.
What You Need
Materials
- Wood Craft Sticks
- Microfiber Wash Rag
- Scarf
- Paint (Green, White, Brown, Orange, and Black)
- Hot Glue Sticks
Tools
- Hot Glue Gun
- Paint Brushes
- Scissors
How To Make A Craft Stick Snowman Sign
Step 1:

Firstly, line up 13 craft sticks. Use something with a straight edge to make sure they are lined up evenly (I used a small level).
Add glue to another craft stick, from end to end, and evenly place it across the top of all 13 sticks. Repeat for the bottom.
Step 2:

Secondly, you will need to cut a strip of material to fit across the craft sticks. Then cut out a hat (mine is from a scarf) and tassel. I placed the fabric on the sign just to get an idea where to paint my winter scene.
However, do not glue it down yet, set aside until Step 4.
Step 3:
Thirdly, decide what winter scene you would like to paint.
I started by painting a snowman. Then I moved to painting the large pine tree and then the small one. I also decided I would like to add snow. So I dabbed small dots of white paint to the background and lightly brushed it onto the tree.
Step 4:

Lastly, use your hot glue gun to glue on the snow (wash cloth) and the snowman’s hat.
Next, flip the sign over and cut an 8 inch piece of twine. Then knot the ends of the twine, add glue to the back of the sign, and carefully press the knotted ends of the twine into the hot glue.

Hanging Lumberjack Gnome

Even though I am calling this adorable gnome a lumberjack doesn’t mean that is what yours has to be. Simply by swapping out the scarf/fabric used for the hat you can easily create a boho gnome or a classic Christmas gnome…the options are endless!
What You Need
Materials
- Scarf
- Wood Bead
- White Yarn
- Poly Fill/ Stuffing
- Card Board (You will just need a small piece)
- Hot Glue Sticks
Tools
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Hole Punch (Optional)
How To Make A Hanging Lumberjack Gnome
Step 1:
You are going to start by cutting the scarf for his hat. I cut mine at approximately 10 inches long, but you can make it as long or as short as you want.

Next, roll up the end of the scarf 1/4 to 1/2 inches and glue down. Then double it over and glue again to create a cute cuff.
Step 2:

Secondly, flip the hat over and fold in the cuffed ends, overlapping slightly. Then fold in, or trim, the upper part of the hat for a cone-like shape.
Once you have it set, gather the top into a bunch and secure with a small rubber band. Then add a thin bead of hot glue down the seam to secure.
Step 3:

Thirdly, carefully add poly fill to the hat. Once you have the shape you like sit the hat, open side down, on a piece of cardboard and trace it.
*You may have to trim the cardboard slightly. It will need to be somewhat snug but you don’t want it too tight where it is bulging out the sides of the hat. As well as, not too loose so it doesn’t fall out.
Then cut out the oval shape and add holes with the hole punch or by poking a pencil through the cardboard.
Step 4:

Fourthly, you will need to cut 53 strands of yarn at 20 inches. I know that sounds like a lot but it’s really not so bad! You can do more or less, it all depends on how full you want his beard to be.
Once you have the strands cut out you can start looping them through the holes in the cardboard. To do so, simply add one end of the yarn in one hole and the other end through a hole beside it.
You can also use the same hole for more than one strand. Some of mine ended up with 3 strands of yarn in them.
Step 5:
Lastly, we are going to put our gnome together!

Start by carefully adding the beard. I pushed it up to where it was sitting right above the cuff. Then add a small dot of hot glue to the wood bead and place it on the underside of the hat cuff.
Next, replace the rubber band with a piece of yarn. Be sure to tie it tightly. Then knot the ends so you can hang it on the wall or your tree.
Lastly, make a pom pom out of white yarn and glue it to the top of the hat!
*See POM POM instructions below!
Fuzzy Cone Trees

This was a fun and easy way to transform basic styrofoam cones into unique Christmas decor!
What You Need
Materials
- Furry Scarf/ Material
- Fuzzy Socks
- 3 Styrofoam Cones (In Multiple Sizes)
- Small Push Pins
Tools
- Scissors
How To Make Fuzzy Cone Trees
Step 1:

First, wrap the scarf around the bottom of the largest cone. Then cut it where it slightly overlaps the other end. Now secure the ends with push pins.
Do the same thing around the top of the cone. But before you secure it tuck in the top over the point of the cone. Then continue wrapping and secure with push pins.
Step 2:

Lastly, take the smaller cone and cover with the fuzzy sock, putting the widest part of the cone in the foot of the sock. Then wrap the excess around the tree and add push pins to secure.

Yarn And Ribbon Wreath

This dual textured foam wreath makes a cute addition to any room. Including, living room, office, and even the nursery!
What You Need
Materials
- Foam Wreath Form
- Festive Ribbon
- Plain Ribbon
- Yarn
- Large Craft Sticks
- Miniature Trees
- Hot Glue Sticks
Tools
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
How To Make A Yarn And Ribbon Wreath
Step 1:
First, you will tie the yarn to the foam wreath form and wrap it about half way around. I tried to keep it tight so you couldn’t see the foam.
Then wrap the yarn over the first layer, but not as tightly so it looks fuller and softer.
Once it is wrapped cut the yarn from the roll and tie it off.
Step 2:

Secondly, take the end of the festive ribbon and slightly overlap the edge of the yarn. Then use hot glue to secure it to the backside of the foam wreath form.
Once the glue is dry wrap the ribbon around the “yarn-free” half of the wreath form, being sure to overlap the yarn slightly on the other end. Then cut the ribbon from the roll and glue it to the backside of the wreath form.
Step 3:
Thirdly, glue the trees to a full size large craft stick. You can also swap out the trees for other festive decorations.
Next, slide the craft stick between the strands of yarn so it just sits in there (no need for glue). Then, to fill in the gap underneath, trim another large craft stick to fit.
Step 4:
Lastly, cut a piece of plain ribbon, loop it through the wreath and tie into a loose bow for hanging!
Dowel And Twine Hanging Trees

This unique Christmas decor project turned out so cute! My office is a feminine Boho theme so that is where this gem is currently hanging!
What You Need
Materials
- Wood Dowels (6 inch)
- Thin Twine
- Wood Cubes (4)
- Yarn
- Branch or Large Dowel
- Hot Glue Sticks
Tools
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
How To Make Dowel And Twine Hanging Trees
Step 1:

You will start by taking 3 dowels and forming a triangle. Then glue the ends together.
Once the dowels dry, add a dot of glue to one side of a wood cube and attach it to the bottom of the triangle.
Step 2:

Secondly, flip the tree over. Now add a dot of glue anywhere on the back of the tree and carefully press in the twine. Then run the twine to the other side of the tree and glue it down.
Repeat this step in a zig zag, up/down pattern until you are satisfied.
Step 3:
Thirdly, glue a yarn pom pom to the top of the tree. (See instructions on how to make a Yarn Pom Pom Ball below.)
Step 4:
Now tie a strand of yarn to the top of the tree then tie it on the branch. (I placed mine in an offset pattern versus making them all the same length.)
Lastly, tie and wrap the yarn around one end of the branch, then do the same on the other end for hanging.
Bonus Tutorial: How To Make Yarn Pom Pom Balls

Firstly, cut a 6-10inch strand of yarn. Set aside.
Then, wrap yarn around your index, middle, and ring fingers 25-30x.
Now carefully slide the bundle off of your fingers and lay on top of the single strand of yarn that you cut. Then tightly tie that strand around the middle of the bundle.
Once it is secured, cut the loops on both sides. Then trim the strands until you have a fluffy, uniform ball.
*You will have to cut a good bit of yarn off in order for it to be small and fluffy. So don’t panic when you see all of the scraps!
