Hi y’all! These DIY Snow Globes are extremely easy and cheap to make! I bought All of the materials from my local Dollar Tree!
Christmas is my family’s favorite holiday! This is also the only holiday I go all out decorating for. And one of my kids favorite decorations are snow globes. Unfortunately most snow globes are made out of glass. (If you are a parent you know glass decor and kids do not go well together!) So I decided to make my own this year with plastic craft jars, faux snow, and mini Christmas figurines. I also added a touch of ribbon for style. Each one literally cost me $4. (No broken jars or a broken wallet… that’s a win win for momma!)
What you need:

Materials
- Plastic Jar.
- Faux Snow (NOT the styrofoam kind) or Glitter (large flakes).
- Mini Christmas Figurines.
- Ribbon.
- Hot Glue Stick.
- Water.
Tools
- Hot Glue Gun.
- Scissors.
How to make a diy snow globe
** Tip** Turn on the Hot Glue Gun before you begin so it will be ready to use by the end of Step 1!!
Step 1:

Firstly, you will need to add the mini Christmas figurines to the inside of the jar lid. But before you glue them down be sure that they will fit through the opening of the jar. (See the photo below for reference.) I tried to keep my figurines closer to the center of the lid.

Once you make sure the figurines will fit go ahead and glue them into place with the hot glue gun.
Step 2:

While you are waiting on the glue to dry go ahead and add either 1 tablespoon of faux snow or 1/2 tablespoon of glitter. (Glitter is shown above.) Then fill with water. However, do not fill to the brim, leave enough room so it doesn’t overflow once you add the figurines/ lid.
Step 3:

The third step is to simply put the lid on the jar, then measure out a piece of ribbon long enough to wrap around the outer rim of the lid. You will then need to hot glue it into place.

Now that you don’t have to worry about shattered glass, let your kiddos shake their DIY Snow Globes til their hearts content!
