Hi y’all! Today I am going to share a list of Fall Activities that I’m sure your entire family will enjoy! My kiddos enjoy getting out of the house and going on an adventure. But we all know that with the changing of the season also comes a lot of rainy days. So, we have to find a way to bring the “adventure” indoors.
I’ve got you covered! With this list you will be prepared no matter what weather may come!
Fall Activities Out and about
#1- The Pumpkin Patch
The Pumpkin Patch is definitely my family’s favorite fall activity!
But don’t just choose any patch. Do a little research because some farms offer more than the patch itself. We found one that has a Play Place for the kids with corn mazes, hay wagon rides, and outdoor play stations. As well as, shops filled with fall decor, food, and of course pumpkins galore!
This trip is also a great time to teach our kids how to be appreciative for all of the hard work the farmers do. They not only provide us a fun place to spend time with our families, but they also put food on our tables!
#2- Train ride
This fall activity is definitely on my bucket list!
If you are looking for a calm, scenic activity then this is for you!
#3- Hike At A Local State Park
Taking a hike is the perfect fall activity to see all of those beautiful fall colors!
The fresh air can also relieve some stress and give your mood a little boost!
#4- Support Your Local Football Team
As we all know football is a HUGE part of the fall season. I would guess that it’s probably the most favored fall activity! So, why not gather up the family and support your local high school team on a Friday night!

#5- Scavenger Hunt
A Fall Scavenger Hunt is fun for ALL family members! You can turn it into a nature scavenger hunt when you take a hike or an “all things fall” scavenger hunt as you ride around town or visit new places.
#6- Have A Backyard Bon Fire
Grab the chocolate, marshmallows, and gram crackers…it’s time for another fall favorite!
A backyard bon fire is a great way to break away from work and screen time to connect with your spouse and kids!
#7- Play In A Pile Of Leaves
Yes, I know this gets messy. Bits of leaves end up in everyones hair. But…we can make a small sacrifice for our kids happiness! You could also join in and maybe reconnect with your inner child.☺️
Indoor
#8- Board Game Night
Board games are available for people of all ages and interests! My family LOVES to play board games all year long. However, there is something cozy about gathering around the coffee table on a cool, crisp autumn night as a family and playing games!
Here’s a list of some family favorite board games:
- Candy Land
- Chutes and Ladders
- Bingo
- Operation
- Apples to Apples
#9- Thanksgiving Movie Marathon
Break out the classic- A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. As well as a newer favorite- Free Birds!
#10- Turkey Puppet craft + Puppet show
Parents, we all do silly things for our kids right? (e.g. cross our eyes, walk like a chicken.) So, why not be silly with them! Create a Turkey Puppet then put on a Puppet Show and enjoy a night of laughter!
#11- Bake a dessert
Along with the Fall season comes lots of yummy food! So, spend an afternoon making memories in the kitchen with your kids over a Pumpkin Pie or Carmel Apples!
#12- Paint PUMPKINS
This fall activity is perfect for toddlers!
We started this tradition when my kids were small because carving a pumpkin was a bigger task than I wanted to take on. However, even after 5 years they still prefer to paint a pumpkin for me to display until Christmas!
Let me know in the comments below what your Fall family favorites are!
