Hello ya’ll! Proverbs 31:30 is an excellent example of the essence of a truly beautiful woman!
There is a lot of pressure on us ladies to look, or even act, a certain way, especially once you become a mom. And I am sure many of us have fallen into that trap (myself included). However, this verse basically tells us that all of that can end overnight! So, we shouldn’t put all of your worth into whether or not the world finds you “beautiful”. Our hair will start turning grey, we will probably add a few stretch marks, and that certain “charm” will fade away. Thankfully the outside appearance is NOT what defines us!
Proverbs 31:30
“Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”

What does Proverbs 31:30 MEAN?
So, I don’t want you to mistake my previous words as an excuse for poor hygiene and lack of caring…not what I’m saying at all. It is when we get ourselves wrapped up in our appearance is when it becomes vain.
Mommas, I totally get how hard it is to get any personal time. So, spending an hour using 5 hair products and creating the perfect hairstyle is definitely not feasible. But THAT’S OKAY! Being the most beautiful or well dressed is not important. Having a beautiful soul is the goal!
how to have true beauty
First and foremost you must check your heart! Are you holding onto past hurt or anger? Letting go of the mess leaves more room for joy and hope, which leads to contentment and pure happiness! For more motivation on “letting go” read my devotion- All Things Become New.
Secondly, you must prepare your heart in prayer. Ask the Lord to help you be a better you. We all have our short comings (I most certainly do) but those “issues” can be over shadowed by the love that we share.
Thirdly, be selfless. This is probably the hardest step. It is natural human behavior to automatically think “how is this going to benefit me?”. That, however, is not how we should be. That attitude not only has an affect on your heart but can also affect everyone around you!
There are many steps that lead to a Proverbs 31:30 heart. However, the biggest piece of advice I can give is to BE INTENTIONAL. Be intentionally selfless, kind, and loving. And it will eventually become your natural human behavior!
Remember you are not alone in this journey. Moms and women of every age struggle with the true meaning of beauty.
