Hi ya’ll! Is it just me or can January feel like a “blah” kind of month? In my opinion it feels that way because we just came down from of a two month high of festivities, socializing, and an overwhelming amount of things to do. Now, in January, we are trying to get back into our everyday routine, which once seemed busy but now feels boring and bland.
Or maybe through these holidays you came across a new-found love. But now that the lights aren’t twinkling and magic doesn’t seem to be floating in the air, that love is fading and your heart is breaking. (Trust me, I completely understand- I have been there.) Now you are wondering if love is worth it? If you should ever open your heart again? Good news, there is a love that goes so much deeper and is so much stronger than that of any human being!

Understanding The Incredible Love Of God
At this point you may be asking, what‘s this love and where can I find it? There is one very simple answer- God’s love! But, while the answer may be simple the comprehension isn’t always so easy.
For some, the idea of a guy in the sky doesn’t make sense. For others, they know God is real but how or why would He love someone like them. The only way to answer that is to have FAITH. Without faith, even in the small things, our lives would be a wreck. We have to have faith that our start our car in the morning. We have to have faith that our refrigerator will keep our groceries cold.
But the greatest and most reliable faith comes through God. While your car may break down, God never will. When a family member or close friend betrays you, God never will.
In Romans 8:38-39 Paul said…
“I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is Christ Jesus our Lord.”
We are made in God’s image, we are His sons and daughters! I like to look at God’s incredible love through the eyes of a parent. There is absolutely nothing that my kids could do that would keep me from loving them. Yes, they may frustrate me or break my heart. But they are my image, my likeness, my child…so my love for them is never broken or tainted! And if my earthly love can be that strong, just imagine how much stronger God’s heavenly love is!!
Receiving The Incredible Love Of God
Once you have faith and believe that such a love exists you can start to receive it. God is always waiting with open arms to pull you in. But maybe you feel like you have too much baggage. Or maybe you aren’t sure how to let Him in. Once again, the answer is simple…just ask! Ask Jesus to come into your heart. Ask Him for His love and forgiveness. And I promise you that you will receive it instantly!
He will also help you to let go of that baggage and hurt. He will dry your tears and give you hope. His love conquers all!
Here are a couple of verses that describe the depth of God’s love:
John 3:16– “For God so loved the world that He gave His only son. That whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.”
Ephesians 3:17-18– “Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is.”
Feeling The Incredible Love Of God
Now that you have received the incredible love of God, be ready to feel it! Maybe you feel it already, or maybe you will feel it when you least expect it. But I promise, it is there. God never lies. He never lets us down. And He knows what we want, need, and think even before we do. He will always love us, but He will never force us to love Him.
However, if you allow it, God’s love will wash over you like a flood! Not only will you feel loved, but you will find peace and joy. Your perspective on life will brighten. Your heart will feel alive and your worries will subside. God’s love contains more than just love. It contains healing, strength, forgiveness, power, and so much more!
So, I encourage you to take a moment and think about this year. Do you want it to be filled with the goodness that God has for your life? Or would you rather leave it feeling gloomy and blah? The choice is yours.
I have chosen the incredible love of God!!
